Q&A Balancing Basic: Tree Pose

Posted on May 15, 2015 by wlda

Welcome back to all you beautiful PRiMEWomen!

Thank you so much for all your questions on what challenges you in yoga and fitness. Tree Pose (Vrksasana) was the most asked about yoga pose so I’ll start with that one. “Unlike most yoga poses, the Tree Pose requires keeping our eyes open in order to maintain body balance,” according to The Art of Living. Below is a quick tip video I made to help you learn a few different modifications to gain strength and to hold this challenging standing one-legged balance pose.

I hope this helps and keep the messages coming. Thank you for including PRiMEWomen in your exercise routine and I will see you again next month!

Benefits

Strengthens thighs, calves, ankles, and spine

Stretches the groins and inner thighs, chest and shoulders

Improves sense of balance

Relieves sciatica and reduces flat feet

Always work within your own range of limits and abilities. If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing any Yoga practice.
