 Try a One-Day Diet to Get Back on Track

For those of you that indulged over the long Memorial Weekend (or the first few days of summer) and didn’t quite stick to your PLATE program, the one-day diet below is a great option to get you back on track. All the vegetables really help to cleanse your system and shrink your stomach. It is very light on protein which is harder to digest. You may want to not exercise (other than walk) on the day you follow the modified fast or the following day.

You can read about where this regimen came from in this article. It is meant to be for five days once a month as a longevity diet. However, we’ve found it works great just for a one-day, tasty, cleansing diet. It is especially helpful to use right before a big event where you want your stomach as flat as possible.

 
 
Breakfast – 1 Kind Bar 200 calories 16 g of fat/15 g of carbs/6 g of protein (different varieties have different fat/carb/protein combinations so be sure to check the label) Caramel Almond & Sea Salt is excellent! You can purchase this product through Amazon.
 
Lunch – 1 serving of Garden Vegetable Soup (you can purchase vegetable soup but check the label, should be approximately 255 calories, 12 grams of fat/6 grams of protein/33 grams of carbs – most don’t have enough calories or fat per serving so you may need to add a little avocado if you don’t choose to make your own).
 
Dinner – 2 to 3 cups of chopped mixed vegetables sautéed until tender in 2/3 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil, season with any spices – I like Greek Seasonings. Use any combination of veggies you like but the calorie count for the vegetables should be approximately 190 calories. The finer you chop the veggies, the more of the oil they absorb and the better they taste!
